The Devil Made Me Brew It by Sarah Piper is witty, charming, and exactly the kind of cozy, magical escape I needed to pull me out of a reading slump.
The story follows Violet, who—after receiving an eviction notice for her beloved magical tea shop—accidentally (and somewhat drunkenly) summons and binds the Devil himself to her. Yes, that Devil. Chaos, charm, and plenty of unexpected sweetness ensue.
This book is a delightful mix of humor, heart, and heat. It’s very spicy (consider yourself warned—in the best way), and still delivers a satisfying happily ever after that left me smiling. I’ll be thinking about these characters and their enchanting, slightly unhinged romance for a long time.
